My wife told me yesterday that she thought you needed a hug and she isn't a Counselor. I am a Counselor and I totally agree with her. Wish there was a HUG icon that I could insert here but alas I couldn't find one sooooo HUG HUG HUG Added a couple of extras for later needs.

I can see it will be a looong winter. It is way to early to be that serious. :)
I think that he was light heartedly gladdened by the realization that he was not alone in this harsh world. He was not gladdened by his brothers demise.

YOUR JOKING, AREN'T YOU????? HA! HA! HA! Now you've got your laugh so I hope your happy. If your not joking you need help. Some serious help!

This comes from the very bottom of my heart and soul. Thank you. I just couldn't understand why you reacted to my post #9 in the way that you did in your post #10. When I read the OP's original post, I thought that he might have been making fun of people having flat tires on their tractors when the statement was made "gladdened my heart". That is why I offered the question about joking. Please explain why you reacted to my post in the manner that you did. I really didn't understand why it would "Gladden anyone's Heart" when a person had the misfortune such as having a flat tire on a tractor. Fixing a flat on a tractor is both time consuming and expensive. Thanks in advance for your reply and explanation. Hopefully we can reach common ground.

I noticed this green tractor stranded in a field today with a flat rear tire. It gladdened my heart to know that other tractors, besides Kubotas, get flats too. The tractor is owned by a governmental agency, so it made the irony better, knowing that some poor guy didn't have to fix this.

Surely you are joking and not serious. I really can't understand why anyone would be happy - "It gladdened my heart" that an individual would have a flat tire, whether it was a tractor or any other vehicle. If memory serves me correctly, your State of Connecticut has a very high tax burden. New York, New Jersey and Connecticut have the highest overall tax burden in the Nation. You stated that the tractor was owned by a governmental agency. If it was state owned, the citizens of Connecticut paid for getting the flat fixed. In retrospect, I drive a Chevrolet truck and if I saw a Ford truck on the side of the road with a flat, it wouldn't "gladdened my heart". I would stop and help the individual and I would feel bad that he had the flat tire. Surely you were joking?

Original post was a joke about "TRACTORS" NOT ABOUT A PERSON!!
It was NEVER about a person, it was about a different brand of tractor. He even added that he was glad an "individual person" wasn't suffering because of the flat that it was a government entity that will pay someone hunting for work to fix it. You may think that way but he didn't and it seems clear to me the he was joking but you did not seem to be finding any HUMOR in his post and "jumped" on him with your mistaken understanding of his post.
That's why I reacted the way I did. As a Counselor I have this tendency to "defend people". I believed you were trying to "bully" him. Right or wrong that was my conclusion after reading your post commenting on a humorous post. His was humorous and yours didn't seem to be offering any humor. Just my opinion and conclusion.
I see your very active on TBN with over 7000 posts in a bit over a year but I believe you missed the point on this one.

Hmmmm.... maybe we can get this thread a new title..."mistaken understanding"

And, we can get a lawyer to explain the phrase "gladdened my heart" .... ooops, are we gonna get into lawyer comments now...almost ready for a CW hit song...maybe Randy Travis? :D

The real joke in this thread is the insertion of political and religious position...

That was exactly the point of my other post. That junk was totally unnecessary.

I may have indeed misunderstood the OP's intent. It was not my intention to "Bully him" in any form or fashion. I was replying to the "Gladdened my Heart" comment. I couldn't understand why anyone would be happy that after an individual had suffered misfortune. That is exactly why I interjected the question about the OP joking. In retrospect, the reason that I commented on your vocation, was that I found it confusing that your first post was derogatory and questioned my integrity. I sincerely hope that this matter is clear. My only intention was to grasp an understanding of why anyone would think that having a flat tire on a tractor in the field would have a positive solution. BTW, I don't expect any accolades by stating the following fact. I have had a flat in the field and have had to walk quite a distance for help because my cell phone wouldn't work. And I have a protheseis on my left leg. I rely on my own inititive and try my best not to rely on others. In closing, I didn't mean any insults, but I explained earlier why I reacted to your post in the manner that I did. I, like yourself, have always been on the side of the "Under Dog and the less fortunate". If I overreacted, I didn't intend to. That is why I inquired about the joking. Thanks for listening. Let's all move forward. Best wishes to everyone.
