Sorry for your loss Randall. I've experienced it many times in the past and will again in the future. It hurts like heck and never gets easier. All I know is after a period of time, the hurt will lessen but the fond memories will always be there.

I am so sorry to hear of your special friend's passing. There is love and then there is a step above that and that is the bond between man and his dog. There are just no words to describe it. We have all been thru it and will go thru it again, the Lord knows how many more.

Like most others posting your loss brings back memories of our lown losses. We lost our Chesapeake Bay Retriever " Ellie" this past April to kidney failure at 7 1/2 years old. It brings a tear to my eye just writing about it and I hope it always does. I want to be as faithful to her as she was to me.

There is a writing posted in our vets office that states your friend will never be replaced but there is room in your heart for the next best buddy that comes along.

May God bless you with that next great friend in the near future.

Thanks Guys, Jack had a great life and he was an independant dog. He is the dog in my avatar. My children are the ones who had to have him. We researched JRTs and how to pick a good one. we picked him out when he was 5 days old and went and picked him up when he was 6 weeks old. He was his own dog. He was the easiest dog I have ever trained and he knew about 15 or 20 tricks by comand. Once he learned a trick he never forgot. Whatever I was doing outside he was fully engaged. If I was on the tractor he was there and stayed out of the way. I am sure going to miss that rascal.

Those Jack Russel's are real characters, very easy for them to work their way into your heart. We lost a sweetheart of a dog a few years ago and someone sent me a link to a poem. "The Rainbow Bridge" very sweet poem.
