Ok I have found my 12VDC selector (diverter) valve the fittings and the hoses all at surplus center no problem. The one piece I can't find is a surface mount SP spring return NO switch for the application. I have found a kit that has a real nice switch but the kit is way more $.

What has everyone else used for the switch? I know many of you have installed this same system set up for your grapples but just what have you used for a switch? I really feel stupid asking this question becaues it is seemingly such an easy item, but I can't find one that fits the application or fits a joy stick!

Yea I have found many switches that can be recessed on the grip but I was looking for a simple surface switch. I really do like the replacement grip though.

Here's what I used with my fasse valve, which is mounted on the FEL arms on my Kubota. I found a Hurst shifter knob with a thumb button, this would normally be used for a nitrous setup in a car. It was about $40.00 + shipping from Amazon but it's widely available on the net. I also installed a rocker switch in parallel on the dash for when I want it locked into the 2nd outlet. Also installed a set of pilot lights on the valve so it's easy to tell that they're working. I used a bosch relay from the switches to control the power to the solenoids. If anybody needs a schematic and I'll draw one up. DSCF2695.JPGDSCF2696.JPG

What about a simple horn button switch clamped just under your joystick knob? This one is rated at 5 amps. If you need higher current, wire the horn button to a commonly available starter solenoid and use the high current solenoid to power the diverter valve's solenoid.

I suppose that would work. There are a lot of different buttons that would work, I think I am just to picky! I am looking for a certain look, problem is I don't know what that is! Ever have that feeling.

I have the same switch in your initial link, but I got kine directly from Fasse with my diverter kit. Call them and see if you can just get the switch from them. It has held up well, and I like it. Www.fasse.com if I recall correctly.

Why not contact the diverter manufacturer, Rankin, and buy just a replacement switch from them? They give the part # in the parts breakdown on the PDF .
Or contact Fit Rite Hydraulics, Brian, the owner may be able to give you what you want. He supplied my Top-N Tilt and diverter valve- just like the one you show in your link.

I'd contacted Idaho Implement earlier today about exactly the same thing.

From the reply email: "The replacement switch (part #309-704) from the Rankin kit is $120 + shipping. It has wires for the battery and about a 2' wire lead on it that plugs into an extension (part #309-702 - $27) that connects to the diverter unit. Since these parts are designed for use in conjunction with this particular unit, we would have to sell them "as-is" with no guarantee or warranty for your application."

For $120, I'll keep looking

I'm also waiting for a response from Rankin as suggested by Coyote Machine. I'll post up once I hear back from them
