Alright alright maybe it's not rare but does anybody else have one in their shop? D**n here I thought this thing was cool enough to share. I must of been wrong. :( lol

Edit... For those it was lost on, the title "biggest wrench ever" was a joke. I know there are much bigger ones. This is my biggest one.

Way larger than any wrench I have for sure. How much does that bad boy weigh? It would save a trip back the shop to get a cheater bar, assuming I could lift it.

Sometimes I read too fast. I thought your thread title was "Biggest Wench Ever" and expected pictures of a fat lady. :ashamed:

Maybe this is the "lady" you were looking for.

Just for fun - Here are my biggest wrenches.
Big one 5 foot, almost 100 pounds.
Little guy only 4 foot.
Yep they are adjustable pipe wrenches.

Impressive.
Maybe someone has one but I once saw an owner's manual for a huge disc harrow and the wrench that was used to tighten the end nut on the disc gangs. In the photos it looked to be as long as the guy was tall.

How'd you survive the divorce?:D

The biggest wrench I ever saw was used to remove naval gun barrels. It clamped onto the barrel and then a crane on the pier or a tender ship would attach to the end of the wrench and pull upwards to rotate the barrel 90 degrees. The barrels had interrupted threads that made a bayonet type of mounting. When the barrel was rotated 90 degrees, it would slide out of the housing on the gun mount. (See photo.)

I personally helped remove both a 5"/38 and a 5"/54 barrel from a couple of destroyers. The wrench was about 8' long with a circular clamp on one end that bolted around the barrel. On the other end was an eye for attaching a clevis from the crane. Of course, after years of use, the gun barrels were stuck tightly. Sometimes the threads would NOT let the barrels turn. When enough pressure was applied to break the barrel loose, it got a little spectacular as the wrench popped from horizontal up to vertical. I've searched for a photo of that big wrench, but just can't find one. I feel lucky to find a photo of the barrel's interrupted thread mounting.

:) I hope you all know better. That might be ok for some but it will not work for me :)

Interesting story about the barrels. I'd say in a situation like that it'd be easy for someone to get hurt real fast.

That's a cool wrench, and I thought my 2' breaker bar was neat.

Have at least one of those monster pipe wrenches and one that uses a chain to grasp the pipe. Years ago our installers (the stronger ones) used them to install steam boilers. I remember years ago helping an installer remove flanges from a boiler and it took 3 of us to get the wrench horizontally to a height of 5 feet before we could even twist it. The worst part of the deal was we had to use a torch to heat the flange prior to spinning it. I'm glad those days are gone.
