Tractor
L4300
My next task is to yard 2 foot diameter by 20 foot long fir/pine logs to new location. Will my L4300 be able to handle this or should i borrow my boy friends beast of a truck( 79 f250 with lockers)? I don't want to haul tractor 100 miles and not be able to use the tractor.
Terrain will be flat and grassy.

That is quite a bit of weight for either. I think the weight for 1' of a 2' diameter Douglas fir (green) is about 150 pounds. That would make the weight around 2500 pounds assuming the log tapers. Pull it with a 4300 maybe, lift it no.

My 2 cents.

BTW, you live just down the road from me... Across the Columbia though.

Howdy neighbor across the river. So you suggest that boy friend come along with his orange 045 and 28 inch bar to cut the job in half? I can only manage a stihl ms250, that is if i can get it started. He bought chainsaw for me and told me to get with it.

What do you use your tractor for? this is my first tractor and have only had tractor for a 2 weeks.

Yes, and if he cut, split and stacked it for you for sure it would be ready for next year.

A Abuse my L2550DT for practically everything. 75 acres consisting of 40 acres of pasture and 25 acres of trees and 10 acres of homes and barn. I have somewhere around 5000 hours on it and it has been a very, very good little machine for me. Sure it breaks every now and then but I ask it to do a larger tractors work so no complaints. I am on my second loader bucket as the first was just too bent with about a 1' sag in the center of the edge.

I live in Curtis, just West of Chehalis so as the crow flies you are not very far away at all.
