Im back up and running again. We ended up putting on a new Zenith carb and man does it run better than ever. It made a huge difference in throttle response! The rattle ended up being in the clutch area, where the two shafts ride over each other. My buddy thats a JD mechanic said run it and worry about it later since I shouldnt be lugging it much.

Id say I have a pretty decent machine now. Its a big step up from a JD60 with a trip bucket. Id like to find a 3 point 6' snow blower for it, with it having basically 8 reverse speeds and 60HP it should work well.

The 2030 has always been one of my favorite tractors. Lots of HP in a smaller tractor. Ken Sweet

You will have 8 forward speeds and 4 reverse speeds. Unless you have the Reverser trans.

I have the high/low instead of the shuttle shift. Which one do you have Zebra?

Also the Hi-Low. Shifting to Low is real close to a down shift, so I do not consider mine as any more than 8 forward and 4 reverse speeds. Still nice for an old tractor.I wish it was a syncro so I could shift gears without coming to a stop.

Mines a diesel, has the HD front axle, power adjust rear wheels, 2 rear SCVs, down exhaust, independent PTO and a JD 245 self leveling loader.

I thought they were all synchro , Regardless 2020/2030/2130 all shift through notoriously well on the highway .

No Dubuque/Mannheim utility tractors built for sales in North America had synchronized trans designed to be shifted on the go with the exception of the ones equipped with hyd hi-lo/reverser which would only be shifting up/down.
