Heat for UTV's with cabs

We just took delivery of JD 825 i with cab. We thought the JD heater was to pricey. Does anyone offer Aftermarket heaters for these units?

Extra??? You bet it is. I only wish I remembered the price. I'm not sure but they may haave a delux model that comes with a heater. We started out with a canopy and front windshield then ordered the doors and back glass. That's $2400.00. I checked aafter market. Many companies did not offer doors & back glass or a cab unit. Talking with folks that have after market products they are very unhappy and warned me sternly not to buy one.

I'd go to the junkyard and get a heater core, and slap a computer fan on it, add some heater hose and a switch and ball valve.

Essentially that is all the factory heater kits are........but at 10 times the cost!!!

A small personal propane space heater like a lot of folks use in a deer stand...bungee cord it some where safe...probably cheapest way...no mod, no cutting, no hoses to fool with...just food for thought...

Try Prosum Equipment. I don't own their heater, but I have some of their cab components (roof, glass windshield, rear window, and lights front and rear) and I think the quality is there. Since I don't have doors, I have no use for their heater.
Their web site is none too great. You'll probably have to call or email to get real information.

How in the world would they sell a cab without basic heat ? A/C I can understand. Just for chuckles how much did Deere want for a factory heater ? I don't think $259 is out of line if it fits in a undisturbed location and works fine. Cobbeling something like this together would turn me off and the cost amount would be half of new. I have the 1100 Kubota with heat & air..... no worries !

If you do that, then you will need an ample amount of fresh air going into the cab as well or you might find yourselff getting headaches and sleepy

A propane heater isn't a good idea in my opinion.
As for the question of why they would sell a cab without heater, that one is easy. Cabs protect from rain, wind, excess sun, as well as cold and snow. When I was a hearty northerner, I used to snow blow in a cab on my garden tractor. No heater, but I was mighty happy with the cab, and I knew how to dress appropriately. If I lived up there now, I'd have a heater
Nothing wrong with Deere letting the buyer option out his purchase any way he wants.

I hope the cabs on the JD's are sealed better than a Kawasaki Mule. We have one at work with aftermarket cab and heater.
If the engine is hot and sitting still with the fan on high it takes the chill off the cab. Take off and the drafts move all the heat out in seconds.

Well, I did check. The delux cab at $1441.00 Does not haave a heater. Everything is optional. Glass windshield with wiper $793.00. Rear window, $199.00. Glass door kit $$2203.00. Electrical kit $85.00. Cab heater $1026.00.
The "T" Series Cab heater is $985.00. Some, very few, of the attachments seem reasonably priced.

Maybe I'll do what I did in my early years of deer hunting. Burn out a gallon paint can. Punch some holes around the bottom. Put a few charcoal briquets. Give a squirt of lighter fluid then a match.

When I bought my 1100 I priced out many other UTV's with cabs and heat...Oddly the RTV1100 was reasonable when all of the options are added in (I didn't care about AC but it's OEM)...No the 1100 isn't as much play fun as some of the others but it does everything I ask of it.

I have no problem if they want to piece it out. Nine hundred for a heater is a bit on the really high side .............. for upscale customers I suppose it is a deal. I would have no part of propane heat in a small confined area such as a cab either without a fool proof exhaust / and intake air system. Then you also run the chance of snow or ice blocking the intake. A fan and radiator is the only way to go from what I have seen. There may also be electric heaters but I have no experience with them.
