RTV 500 with camoplast 4s utv tracks, Bobcat 773 with filled tires and steel tracks
Anyone put a v-plow on their 500? I see boss has one for 1900 or so but it's only for the 900. My 500 has tracks so whatever I get I'm sure it will require a custom install. Maybe a cheap manual poly v would be all I need but does anybody make one of those?:confused3:

Do you really need a "v" plow?...The OEM does a great job all by it self.

I've plowed years with straight on my truck and a v on my bobcat. The v will go almost forever without stopping as long as the snow isn't too wet. When I use my bobcat v as a straight blade, it accumulates a fair amount of buildup that I eventually need to clear as it is a slow moving vehicle unlike a truck where speed will throw it out to the side. I figure the V is only a hair more in cost but more useful in busting through the deep with the slow moving RTV on tracks. Not to mention that it's excellent in the inverted position for cleaning up rows left by the straight blade.

The 66" American Eagle V plow I installed on my RTV 500 was the bee's knees on it....worked awesome. When I got rid of my RTV 500 I kept the plow and I put it on my Gator 825i yesterday. It's a well built plow that works great and is easy on the wallet. Don't listen to folks who will tell you the RTV 500 won't handle a 66" plow either, it handled it with ease....a lot of folks told me it wouldn't handle that much blade but it turns out they had never tried it...it handled Maine snow storms with no problems at all and several 12"+ storms in a single pass.

I thought you put a straight on your 500, Did you switch or was that someone else I was thinking of? That set up looks like it would even clear my tracks. I suppose it uses all 4 holes under the winch for the brush guard? I had to cut the outside two off for clearance when turning.

Why did ya dump the kubota? Speed and suspension? Those are my only gripes. How's the gator?

So I've checked out that plow and some old threads came up, answered one of my questions Dixie, but now I have more. I think this will be just what I need but where did you buy yours? I see discountatvplows.com has them for $610 which is WAY cheaper then units with actuators or pumps so I like that (don't mind manual for this). I'm going to get my tracks back on today and take some measurements to see how wide I need in the blade to be in the v position, then maybe order one up soon :dance1:

I bought mine direct from American Eagle's internet sales sight NorthStar ATV - Home

The reason for the Gator was the suspension more than anything....the speed/power was just a bonus. The long travel suspension on the Gator is awesome and then some...I've had it stuck once and it was amazing how hard it was to get stuck.

I saw the direct website earlier but also found a black Friday weekend special on this website good for 15% off Korky's Oupost

I called them just now and ordered one up. Going to be a trial and error deal from here on I think with mounting but when I get it working I'll post up some picks.

Thanks for the recommendations:)

I don't think you'll be disappointed. The only modification I made was some pretty aggressive folding so that I made my plow scoop....I'm not sure they recommend it but it works great now for cleaning up the spillage.

Dixie, You have any pics or description of where the plow mounts up exactly? I just got the plow Saturday but they didn't send the mount yet and the push tube frame is like 4' long. It looks way wrong to me, I think I need a different frame
