ps, to grumpy, no hard feelings man.. just practicing what you were preaching about not taking stuff personally. :) and I forgive ya for all them nice things ya said about me.

thanks!

Its really quite sad that you have nothing better to do than attack me over a posting and to act like a 12 year old little girl with your "ooh ! guys look what he sent me by pm !" just shows you as a troll with no life and anyone who posts at a web site 39,000 + times needs some type of new hobby . and to those who actually replied to your post need help also , grow up ! men don't play these little games ! :grumpy: spending hours on a web site for any other reason than gaining information is sad .you must be a very lonely person .

To clarify, I am replying to Grumpy - I wouldn't make a lot of noise about post counts, because it looks like (as of just a few minutes ago), Soundguy is running at a pace of about 10 posts per day and you're doing pretty fair to keep up at 9.6 per day. He's just got a 10 year head start on you...

And now I'm replying to myself...I'm coming in pretty lousy at about .23 post per day. I'm gonna have to live to be about a million to catch up with Soundguy...

Entertainingly, if you switch to threaded mode, you can see that the reply made by Grumpy Old Man (the bolded one in the list, which he claims was not a reply to Soundguy's post) was made by clicking on the reply button in Soundguy's post. See the screenshot below, or switch to threaded mode to see for yourself:

Anyhow, I'll try to drop the matter now.

You have 298 posts when I write this, and your join date was last month. I don't think there is anything wrong with that, but your post implies you do.

Soundguy is an expert on a group of tractors that happen to be ubiquitous in this country. Many thousand of those posts were to help guys get the use of their tractors back again.

Ok, im a little more sufficient, at least for the short time, then i was. My generator wouldn't start. Electric start didn't kick in, not surprisingly the battery was died. Shot of ether into the intake and yanking on the cord. Pulled the spark plug out, good spark. Hmm, drained a little gas out of the carburetor just for the heck of it. Been thinking about the on/off/start rocker switch looking a little corroded so decided to take a better look at it since i was going to have to work the generator over anyway. Pulled the panel off and noticed a 5 amp spade type fuse that was blown. Replaced it and now the generator starts and works fine.

Good job.

Draining out a carb bowl is something I do from time to time. I do right much carb work and so many times I see debris at the bottom of the bowls I encounter. Most times, the fuel filter is more than fine enough to stop debris of that size, so I long ago came to the conclusion that particulate can precipitate out of the fuel while in the bowl. Many times it can be there for a long time without getting into a jet, so dumping a bowl from time to time can save other work. I tend to put up engines with the carb emptied if i am sure I won't use them for a while.

most of my older fords have sediment bowls, either at the fuel tap, or on the side of the carb.. it's amazing how much stuff actually makes it in there.. and with this new ethanol gas now.. instead of staying fine powdery sediment.. it turns into a paste at the bottom of the bowl.

I used to clean sediment bowls 1x per year at oil change. i now clean then at least 2, and 3 if I have the time.

makes ya wonder. :)
