Ok so I have a cylinder that was donated for the Log Splitter project. This thing is BIG and HEAVY. It says it is a 5 inch bore and I'm measuring the rod to be 3.5 inches diameter with a 20.5 in stroke. All in all I think this would be perfect but..... There are a few concerns I have and would like opinions on it.
My concerns are :
1. Not sure if it works or not and since I don't yet have the splitter hydraulics built I have no good way to test it.
2. Cant find any real info on it on the web so if it doesn't work can I get a kit to rebuild it
3. For the massive size, the tag says its rated for 1500 psi ????. Could this be right given its mass ? With this rating should I even bother ? And did I mention that this thing is freaking heavy.
Here is the tag info:
Lincoln Machine Company Incorporated
Model: C-17020
Bore: 5 inches
Stroke: 20.5 inches
Pressure: 1500
Anybody know anything about these cylinders ???
Take a look at the pictures and let me know your thoughts.
