A buck is broad at the shoulder and narrow at the hips, much like a well built young man, a doe is just the opposite narrow at the shoulders and wide at the hips, much like a well built young woman, a bucks rear hoof prints will usually be slightly inward from his front hoof track, been putting hounds on deer down here in the south for a pretty good many years and this is one fairly reliable way to determine between a buck and a doe.
