Those new direct injection engines are neat. I think a lot, if not most diesel trucks are sold to wannbe something or anothers. I see a F650 diesel occasionally that has a fancy tonneau cover, really nice wheels. It is used as a grocery getter. A neighbor of mine drives a F350. He is 84, can't drive at night, hasn't towed anything in years, but gets a new one every year.

I have no problem with someone wanting a F-650 grocery getter. I work with someone who does.
Its his money and he can darn well spend it the best way he sees fit.
If he wants a grocery getter thats what he got.:laughing:
With his tailgate above roof level of my of my K3500 he doesn't want to heft anything into the bed. I don't blame him.
Texas is full of F-650 grocery getters.
I've gotta wonder though,are garages are bigger in texas too?

400 hp gassers. How much power do you need....

You ain't getting' 800 foot pounds of torque from 400 gas horse power.

Not sure if we will see it in a pickup or not but Ford is coming out with an in-line 5 cylinder Powerstroke for their restyled full size van. And yes, it will require p.. ah urea.

I have always been a fan of odd numbered cylinders. Our family has had tons of Volvo's and they just run so smooth.

na, i think the hayday for diesels is over... especially with T4 requirements and greater that will come. performance per dollar just suffers to much for lightweight operations.

I dont see the issue.

If you can honestly say you work a diesel truck, then a medium duty (F-450/ 4500) or larger, will serve you even better.

I work a diesel, I own an F450, I wish GM made a truck in the F450,550/4500,5500 chassis size, their 4500 is comparable to a F650 which is just too big.
