Hey anybody who spends the kinda money it costs to buy these machines really has a right to expect high quality. I mean if we were talkin small investment hey no big deal but we're not! Dad's machine was a few dollars shy of $60,000 and the other man said his was around$85k so that is a very big investment. I know we can be picky sometimes here in America and yes we do have it real good compared to other countries but it's not a matter of complaining! It's a matter of "High Standards" and getting what you pay for!!! If the Man's not happy about what he invested in then he has EVERY Right to mention it. These are very nice machines but let's face it...the consumer always gets the short end of the stick!! If the man paid that much it should've had the best radio in it already with quality sound to his liking! When dad took delivery of his M the power rev wasn't working. Couldn't shift without cycling the clutch. I figured may be some kind of neutral relay or whatever. The techs brought a new seat out because the seat switch is "too hard" to get to. Didn't fix it. Had to take the tractor back to shop for troubleshooting. It was a neutral relay. Lucky guess for me. Brand spankin new machine in the shop. Before dad got it we went to dealer to see it. They said it's ready to go. I said Really?? With grease all over the loader, little pieces of wire and plastic all in the cab? Mud in the floor board? Broken crossmember on loader between the hook ups? Finger prints all over it?? Oh ok...but it's just a tractor right? I mean why would Dad who has slaved his whole friggin life want his brand new $60,000 tractor to be clean and tip top?? He's just picky like the other man who spent $85,000 on his right? Easy to say the man is just being insane when it's not your money!!! Yes they are nice machines but what happened to "High Standards"? Bottom line is if the Man isn't satisfied with a $200 radio in an $85,000 machine, well fix it!!!!!! I ain't sayin make it sound like a studio, I'm sayin John Deere can make him happy somehow! He's doing them a favor by buying their product. They need to keep remembering that!! Ok...i think i'm done. But don't even ask about Dad's ordering experience. He's legally blind so I helped him with that. It's almost like at this particular dealer, they just wished Dad would have gone away and not bothered them. Yes he looks a little different because he had a radical face surgery to remove cancer and he's a big jokester and seems over bearing at times but that's a crock of Bologna!!! I watched my dad systematically all but kill himself working for the things he gets in life. Fortunatly his tractor works great now and he's satisfied but the road to get there SUCKED!!! In my opinion the Man has Every Right, especially on this Forum with other Tractor enthusiasts to share his opinion on his investment!! Now I'm done.

PBettis, I agree. If they stuck a radio in a 85,000 dollar tractor, it better sound right or don't put them in at all.

I had to set Dad's levels etc. in his and it sounds good now and to his liking but at first I was beginning to wonder why it came with one. Not sure why Dad even ordered a radio because he doesn't even like a radio playing in the shop and he dang sure ain't gonna listen to it while he's operating because he wants to hear the machine and concentrate. I think he knew this would possibly be his last tractor and just wanted to have it. Not sure. I personally think if you're gonna get a cab tractor and pay a premium price ($10k for deluxe cab) well...you might as well get it. Who knows? But in all seriousness...(if you couldn't tell I wasn't already) I personally think the quality of sound in Dad's tractor is very high. Sounds as good as my Service truck. 2002 F350 Powerstroke with an Alpine radio the previous owner had installed. I'd have been happy with the stock unit..haha! That's what I say, he probably just needs to set some levels and it'll be a whole new sound quality. All in all I also think the quality is still very high with John Deere in general. They seem to more than surpass most if not all of the other brands in my opinion. At least they do with Cab quality. I mean it's like nicer than most vehicles!! Haha...

Yeah, tractor radios aren't pretty bad and I agree you should expect better. They are all the same but can be dramatically improved by better quality speakers plus adding any extra speakers that the tractor can handle or has spaces for. Put the money in the speakers and even a low end radio can sound great.
Seems that good radios in tractors are an idea whose time has come. Maybe not needed for pulling a plow in the spring but lonely hours plowing snow or mowing edges makes the time go lots faster.

Believe me, the radio is probably the last thing on my list of importance. It just caught me off guard. I wrongly assumed a deluxe cab would allow some quality. Seems like we've used up this topic in any event. Tractor sounds good and I spent the last storm listening to that which was pleasing on it's own. I have some Hydraulic issues and blade control problems to work out and work on at the moment so function first. Merry Christmas all.

The transaction isn't complete until "They" make sure the machine performs to your satisfaction. Basically... does the job for which you purchased it. Can't imagine any service issue what so ever on a new unit. Well...it is mechanical so I guess I can. Haha! At least not until you accumulate some hours. Hopefully just some "tweaking" and minor adjustments. Would like to see some more pics too! Do you actually leave the FEL attached with that snow plow attachment on the front? Sorry, I live in Ga. Please excuse my ignorance. I"m sure somebody is laughing about that question. Wasn't sure from your pic if you were just transporting both.

No, both loader and blade were on just for trailer delivery. Well, My rear remote fitting, feeding the blade operation popped off twice in 5 hrs of use. Disconcerting to be powerless to move a 15' blade when pushing a load of snow in a confined space. I assume defective male fitting. Not sure yet. Blade joystick control a bit quirky at the moment. In non float mode the blade can have down pressure with grade changes and loss of steerage as a result. ( sorry about your Porche buddy)

Not sure if its a flow issue or what but not satisfied with how it responds in action. Have to rule out flow reduction in feeds and 90's etc. When in float everything is open center apparently so no angle control which blows. Taking out of float quirky again. Blade lift can be non reliable as well. I havent had time to go through the setup manual so hoping for the best. Worse case scenario is I revert back to a a simpler mechanical remote flow valve assembly vs constant open system using elect switching diverter valves. The simple system I rejected after using modern vplow controls. Time will tell what happens.

This is the problem with purchasing something that you have not tried or seen in real life. My interpretation of what I was buying was not actually the case initially. The technical sales person was not intentionally misleading. He was
talking about what was convention in Quebec. I wanted a seamless joystick function control similar to what I use on my fisher setup. Well Fisher has been perfecting their controller for years. Multiplexing I guess. Anyway. Blade is great. Very high quality engineering and fabrication and materials. Controls are not as good as I would have expected. Using remote as power beyond does tend to heat things up as well. So, That's what I am busy working on tomorrow
