Is that a 220V plug or 110v. 3 phase motors can be reversed but not 110v at least not that I am aware of. DC motors have to be correctly wired or they will run backward and some drill motors have internal wiring that phase shifts the windings to make them run backward and forward but normally 110v motors will only turn one direction regardless of how the 2 wires are hooked up due to the alternating current which cycles +/- between the two poles at 60 cycles per second so reversing the wires wouldnt do anything.
There may be some internal wiring on that big industrial motor that would allow a reverse rotation. You would need to be inside the motor terminal to find it though.
The rotation should be rotating downward when you are standing in front of it which would be clockwise on the left and counterclockwise on the right if you were standing in front of each shaft respectively.
