Moss...are you kidding..? I ask because my Mrs. and I have not been to a movie theater in years...we have a big screen and Dish..Netflix..etc...LOL..make our own popcorn and the price is right...Anyway..my question is... I thought theater movies were all digital now...are they still using film ? Did you ever get to see the end of the movie ? Did you get a partial refund ? Are you mad ?:confused3:

From a news article I read a couiple days ago, the last outdoor drivein in Eastern WA is closing because they can't afford the cost to re-equip with digital equipment. So either they have been using old films or movies are, or were, still being produced on film recently.

I shudder everytime I look a the guage on the PU. A little over 1/2 tank will eat a $50 every time.

For the first 3 years of High School pop was a dime. And that was the 12 oz. bottles. Then in our Senior Year, they upped it to 15 cents.. We almost revolted. It was unheard of, totally unfair, and economic abuse of children. The other day in the Chicago O'Hare Airport I paid $2.85 for a bottle of water..I guess it is all relative.:)

I never had money for movies and pop, but in 1976 I bought a 5 acre view lot with some timber for $6900. I finally got smart.

I remember in 1969, my senior year of college, some guy called me on the phone and offered a 1 acre lot in the Crooked River Ranch subdivision near Bend, Oregon for $500, $50 down and they would carry the paper at 5%. I laughed at him. I could have easily made 100 to 1 on than investment.

Haven't been to a movie in years?? Bob, you got me to thinking and I guess the last time I went to a movie was when I took our two little girls to see Song of the South in 1972; only 40 years ago.

I think they banned that movie in the U.S. for inappropiate content. You can still get bootleg copies on the internet, on disc, transcribed from the PAL format.

Yep, you're right on both counts, and I have it; was a gift I was given a few years ago.:D

I don't recall that happening here, but I do remember when the soda pop vending machines at our service station were modified to take 6 cents, a nickel and a penny instead of just a nickel, and then a very short time later they were modified to take a dime instead.

And before that, we were paying 80 cents a case (24 bottles) plus 50 cents deposit (2 cents per bottle and 2 cents for the wooden case) for all the soda pop. So at a nickel each or $1.20 per case, that was a pretty decent profit margin.

Bird how about the 1/4th lb Baby Ruth candy bar for a dime. or the RC cola and peanuts or Moon pie.
And the 6 ounce Coke was the real thing .
The metal penny cars at groc. stores.

I hate to go to the movies because they don't have closed captioning. Besides, I just sit real close to the TV and get the same effects as a show-house.
