I'll make a point to post here if and when I do receive approval of transfer. Again, this month is six months which was when the dealer indicated I should expect it. Short Barreled Rifles...just what makes these so much more a catalyst to crime? I've paid a gunsmith to cut both my BPs and three rifles, largely because I hunt exclusively out of blinds and enjoy the ease of handling in a confined space. The 7mm Mag Browning 1885 will go from 28" to 24" this week. Now, the deer may want to legislate long barrels that bang on the side of the blind....

Go fetch you a box of sub-sonics and give them in a try. I have a Marlin 22LR 880SQ [ bull barrel bolt 5 shot clip ] and use German 40 grains.. I used to live down in civilization and you weren't supposed to even pass gass loudly, and these are pretty quiet and accurate. If you define fun as blowing a woodchuck in half then these are not for you... but get one with a descrete shot at range is fun for me, don't cost much, and you feel like you actually made a good shot.... :)

I agree, a friend had a Marlin 39A full size long barreled rifle, and using subsonic ammo, it was a lot quieter than my 10-22 semiauto. it is hard to put a number on a sound, without a sound pressure level meter, but it seemed to make "half as much noise" or even way way less. I am thinking actually 6 to 8 db less which would be 1/4 or less.

The rubber overmold stock will always gather dust and dirt! I love their stocks, I've got one on a Mini-14 and one on the 10/22, but you just have to get used to the fact that they're going to always look dirty. The only time mine look good are after I've cleaned them before I put them in the safe and I swear, they get dirty while they're sitting in there. But then again, they are so darned good, I'd never think about putting the original stocks back on them

Good to know. Thanks. I thought it was just me.
