Here is a band file belt cutter I made.
The abrasive belts are available in wider widths for belt sanders that are cheaper that the precut belts for the band file.
So I cut my own for a lot less money.
Uses a standard razor blade spaced at the correct cutting width and all you have to do is rotate the belt around and your done.
I cut up about 3 packets worth on one blade and it it still will cut more.
this would work for the floor model sanders if you can purchase the belts the same length.

I was going to ask if they were AR. Question, shouldn't they be going the other way? With the curl of the bucket? Or are you expecting the dirt to fill the voids, and protect the bucket?
