Solid axle wearing tires? If that is happening, it is toe in or out ,or shocks at fault. I would very surprised if the HD trucks go to IFS. If that happens, eeeech.

My two cents, I like it. Many say ..."is it a 150 or a SD?". I think the answer is Ford will finally go back to one platform as in pre Super Duty days. (like GM and Dodge have). There is too much overlap now between 150 and 250. This next truck will be 150, 250, and 350. this then opens door to bring World Ranger T-6 to this country and give Yoda some competition.

The new mediums that will be built at Avon Lake in Ohio (a concession made to UAW in last negotiations to bring 650,750 back from the Bluediamond JV in Escobedo Mexico), will then cover 450, 550, 650 750 and probably a new 850 that will serve the vocational class 8 market. This truck will utilize some of the big Transit cab components- glass house etc.

I would bet on this.

Sorry but Ford hasn't made an attractive truck since 96-97. I've almost gotten used to the 98-early 2000's models. Maybe by 2025 I'll be ready for a 2013 model

My personal theory is that designers are frustrated with computer software, and have been using Lego's to built their design models. How else do you explain all the straight lines and blocky shapes!?

My opinion is as time goes on Ford drifts further & further away from what people who actually use trucks for and more and more to building trucks to help buyers make up for minimal manhood.

For every 700HP diesel concept that costs $75,000 they build, they should offer an economical lo cost alternative value-based truck for farmers, welders, masons, etc.

I certainly don't make up stories just to put down a brand, that's for sure. If stating facts of failed reliability of a particular make comes across as such, it's purely coincidental. :wink:

I like this design but it will take a larger direct injected normally aspirated V8 to get me in a Ford. I'm all set with twin turbo, small displacement, and more complicated drivetrains. A direct injected 5.7l (350 cu.in.) NA engine making around 400hp/425lb.ft tq with a good 6-8 speed auto and at least 5 years of proven reliability would be plenty. Is that too much to ask? :laughing:

I was going to post how i much i wish i could get one of these instead.

built due to demand from the minning sector and others who want a rugged yet reliable truck. oh perhaps i didnt make it clear... thats a 2012 70 series landcruiser by Toyota. (eg you can buy that today in the rest of the world)

features 4.5-litre turbo-diesel V8 engine, five-speed manual transmission and part-time 4WD with two-speed transfer case.

twice the durrablity, twice the reliablity, half the cost! alas.... only a wish
