Since this was such an impressive storm to you 4shorts, let me ask if you got any of the Great Maine- Quebec ice storm of the late 1990's? We were in Maine at the time and it was maybe two feet of snow-cone-looking ice that first started as just rain before it froze and then the ice stuck to the trees. Just between my house and town there must have been 3000 trees on the power lines. Power was out for nearly everyone and it stayed out for two weeks, or longer, for lots of people. The "snow" weighed a ton and it took me all day just to try--try-- to plow out around the house and barn. Parts of the storm were headed your way and I always wondered how far they made it. Did you get that storm?

I know exactly what your talking about. We've had many ice storms and it's been disastrous. Power lines down, Hydro poles cracked off everywhere. Steel hydro towers just bent over and a small power wire would be as big as ones fist. Combine that with wind and you don't stand a chance.

4shorts, thank you for sharing this videos with us! I cannot wait until I am allowed to play at least a little bit in snow again! But I still have to wait for my tractor until spring.

Your very welcome. May I be so bold to ask you why you have to wait until spring? If its personal I understand. Just can't stand to see a tractor guy not being able to have his tractor.

4shorts, I just ordered my tractor about a week ago. The dealer needed to order one directly from Massey Ferguson, and the wait is until end of March. I waited purposefully until after the first snow storm hit my new place to be educated on what type of snow weapon I need. Originally I was thinking snow plow, but my neighbor miserably failed with his truck and snow plow at keeping my driveway free. Ended up digging out myself with my walk-behind 8hp snow blower, took a while... Now I will be getting a setup similar to yours: Tractor with front end loader and rear 3pt snow blower. Should be very useful for me, as there is still a lot of landscaping to do.

great video Paul I agree with you on moving snow
I use my tractors more for mowing and summer work than for snow, but I do love moving snow a lot better than anything else. Maybe its because I can sit in there in a t-shirt and do it if I want to also. After years of sitting on an open platform and blowing snow in temps as low as -30 F it sure changes the enjoyment factor

Luckily I don't have health issues, but thank you for your thoughts! I better be a healthy gal for quite some years to come, as I still have small children at home and am in my mid 40s. The snow blower action was actually fun, as it meant a really good workout!!

Yep. You look at it the same way as I do. I'm in the cab. The heats on along with the tunes and I'm in a whole world of my own. Hard to get any better than that

Great to hear all is well. Our two boys are out on their own now but I still miss them but with Internet,Skype, texting and even FaceTime it still works out great. I had an interviewer ask me one time what I thought my greatest accomplishment in life was and I replied " to marry a great women and raise to fine boys who grew up and joined the military and went out into the world to help people" it's hard to top that.

Enjoy your children and spend as much time with them as you can because they grow up so fast. :( when you get your tractor I'm betting that snowblower won't get much use :D

We had 120 plus kph winds. 50-70 cm's of snow then later in the day started to drizzle. I seen drifts up to five feet high. Spent almost nine hours in the seat and heading out again tomorrow :cool2:

I am a Cape Bretoner living in NewBrunswick. I watch the maritime weather and I seen you got a wack of snow. Seen some scary pictures of the snow but I know us Maritimers can handle it. Tomorrow I will be blowing a bit of snow with my L4740. Only going to get about 7 cm.

Have fun tomorrow
