Have you ever been shot?

Heh,Heh! I know this is my second but you just made me remember it. It was a BBgun also. I was about 11 and my older brother 13.He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.LOL! But he told me to throw a pear up in the air and he'd shoot it . I just threw it STRAIGHT UP like a dumb kid might.LOL!
Bad thing is,he waited `til it came down in front of me before he shot at it. I guess God took care of my Mom's little dummies that day.....he'd shot me right in the pants zipper.....and except for a fitful pain in front,I was okay. Just had to share that one. don-ohio ^)

Didn't get shot but did have a .25 semi-auto break in my hand when I fired it. The slide and spring came back and hit me in the mouth. My mouth was numb and I grabbed my face. I sure thought I was shot for a few moments! :laughing: When I pulled my hands away and saw no blood I was relieved. Just got a fat lip and a neat curly Q bruise from the spring across my upper lip. Scared me pretty good at first.

so.. was it a raven or pheonix?

When I pheasant hunted around Ellensburg, WA during my college days I saw a lot of pellet rain.

When I was a kid my friends and I decided that playing war with bb guns would be fun. Stupid. I got hit in the finger, hurt like **** and that was the end of that game.

I was hunting with some friends a few years ago and one of them brought a guest. He said he had been hunting with him before and he was a safe hunter. My son and I were behind the main line of six guys working a pheasant field of taller Milo. A bird came up between me and the new guy, he leveled off and fired directly at me. I saw that he was pointing at me and covered my eyes with my arm. I took 18 pellets to my arm arm body. I spent the next hour digging out bird shot. And for the anti gun people, it wasn't the guns fault, it was the idiot pulling the trigger!. We never hunted with that guy again

Same thing happend to me...I was Pheasant hunting with my Father in law and my German short haired pointer - we were walking across a field and another group was off to our right , 74 to 100 yards away and slightly behind us and I heard my FIL yell and I looked to my right and saw the guy pointing his shotgun right at me and he fired just as I looked ....I felt the shot pepper my hunting coat...stopped and checked myself all over...the guy came running over and apologized ...said it was the first time he had been hunting and he got excited...after we had a serious discussion he agreed he would wait until we were out of sight to continue his hunting...It was a public hunting area that everyone had to be permitted for....You really have to be careful who you hunt with....

Both my Brother and Father were shot at during botched robbery attemps... both were at close range... missed my brother who was working his way through school as a nighttime mini-mart gas station cashier.

My Dad was grazed as he struggled with the robber that burst into his office at closing... Dad was 71 and the robber 19. Dad was at his desk and the robber demanded Dad open the safe which there isn't one... Robber said something like open it or die... Dad thought this could be it since there was no cash or safe on the premises and never had been one. Robber didn't know that years ago Dad was the US Heavy Weight Boxing Champion and could still get in a good punch.

Back in the 60s in the AF. We got a new guy in the outfit, grew up in the city, never been "outdoorsing" in his life. We started taking him with us on fishing and hunting. Then he got his wife a new car and himself a shotgun. First trip out he put a 12 gauge through the floorbords of her car...need I mention that county is all mesquite and a 'new car' is not a "good idea" (tm)? Okay, a bit of education, another gun and he put a 9mm through the windshield. I dunno if he ever went hunting again but he for sure didn't go with any of us.

No, but a freind has. Out hunting near Truckee, Ca. Was sitting on a ledge looking over a draw. Had tan jacket on, no orange vest, hat etc.

Guy from Bay area shot him from 90 yards with 30-06 topped with a 3-9x scope. Don't know why; my buddy did not have horns...

Buddy was leaning forward at the time. Bullet hit him in upper back, glanced off ribs and exited; two 0.30" holes about 1.5" apart. But, it broke the ribs, and collapsed a lung.

I was not there. But our other freinds that were with him heard the shot, and thought maybe he got something, so they came over. Took them a little while though.

The Bay area guy and his freind, left him there. My freinds passed them on the way.

Our friends; one stayed with our buddy, while the other hiked to the truck, and drove out to find a ranger. He made contact, and a CHP helipcopter was sent.

Out buddy spent weeks in the hospital. When transferred to hospital closer to home, that hospital did not care for the wound properly, so they got infection and had to cut more tissue away.

That was 20 years ago. My friend won in court, got settlement. Took him a year to recover. Apparently cold weather makes the wound area sore.

I ALWAYS wear orange...

Out duck hunting, I have had pellets "rain" on me, but nothing where anyone shot at me
