That is precisely why we don't have any cats now but do have a lot of gophers. I' ll take cats over gophers and lizards any day.

See, the thing is, species have always found ways to cross great divides and cause change. Nothing new is happening here. Whether mankind is the catalyst or an ice age. If it lives on Earth, it is indigenous . When the cats run out of prey they will die off, you've seen the scenarios.

And you call that being "preyed" upon?...really?

A coyote who attacks humans (especially one who repeatedly does so) is by definition preying upon humans.
Now how much of this is from people moving into the coyote's turf and disrupting its territory and/or food chain vs coyotes adapting to prey on people is hard to say, but I would be surprised to see the incidents of coyote attacks on humans go down anytime soon.
