JOHN DEERE 750 MFWD
can anyone tell me if I can use a kubota 56" tiller for my JD 750 mfwd turf tired 18hp pto tractor. Will be tilling loamy soil/w sand. I have one near me for sale--it is older. Or is this a little too big, should I stick to looking for 48".
thanks

If the price is reasonable, I would buy it and try it. If it turns out that your 750 isn't up to the challenge, then you can always sell it to someone else. I think it will do ok though. I suppose if you had too, you should be able to unbolt the blades on the outer ends so it would till like a 48" unit. Good luck!

I too think you will be ok, may need to go a little slower though, or not till as deeply on the first pass or so.

But please post pics.........orange hooked to green is bound to cause a ruckus:thumbsup:

It's my guess that you will be riding the clutch more than you want to. If you had a 755 it would work easier for you. But you will never know for sure without trying, so, if it is a good deal, go for it and let us know how it goes.

The orange and green part will work. I have a kubota tractor and a john deere tiller. Not sure of the model # but it is a 60inch tiller behind a 24 hp. tractor. Low range is the most important. I have a older Howard tiller that the kubota could barely lift with the front loader. It was 72 inches wide but way heavy. Now is the time to buy a tiller. Spring really raises the used prices.

I have a JD 750 and used a 50 inch tiller to work my hard packed arena. It really worked the tractor hard (to hard in MHO). I didn't go out of 1st gear (high). If you are only doing a small garden plot it will work, just go slow. If you need to till an acre, the tiller is to big (I live at 7000 ft so I lose a fair amount of power due to the altitude).

Thanks, I a still doing the slow look. The kubota tller was sittin buried for 5-7 yrs and at least 15 yrs old he said--he wanted 890. I passed on it for now. I will only be using it for a small garden and small food plot for Deer/turkey. so I can wait.

I would have passed on that also. You can get a new King Kutter for a couple hundred more.
