We haven't really had appreciable snowfall this year, and I have done absolutely no clearing. I work 3rd shift and when I left for work last night it had been snowing and there was like 3 inches in the driveway. On the way home this morning I was actually kind of excited to finally be able to plow (weird I know, normally by this time of year I am sick of it), but when I get home- someone already plowed it! I am not even exactly sure who it was, but have an idea. So I am thankful for the help, but was kind of a bummer. I did still go out and clean it up though, since he must have been a little shy about getting close to the garage and house. I also plowed my back drive to the propane tank, so it wasn't a complete loss:D

The guy that I think did it is the guy that is contracted to plow my road since it is technically not county road yet. He also comes and brush hogs the ditches in the summer. Maybe he was thinking the same thing I was and was excited about finally being able to plow  I doubt it. Thanks anyway whoever it was.

I had something similar happen several years ago. I had taken out a fence row by the county road with my old Long 2360 tractor. 'but several of the larger tree stumps would require a lot of "digging out" so I had put off doing the work. When Saturday rolled around, I told the wife I would be out most of the day on the Long digging out those bothersome stumps. So I drove up to where the stumps "where" and they were Gone!. Not a single one was where I left them... All that was left was a little pile of sawdust, the stumps had been ground down below grade level.. I couldn't believe it who in heck did this? The Stump Fairy? I never found out who did it and why.. but the common joke around our house for something good that happens and you don't know why is to say "maybe the stump fairy came?":)

On the other hand, someone probably got a bill and their stumps were still there. Like the stories where the wrong house gets demolished.

I never thought of that. That is hilarious. The only thing I could think of was maybe the county road maint. came by and wanted to try our their Vemeer or something. I never had a real clue the how and why.. None of the neighbors had any stump grinder, and only one or two even had tractors.

These are great stories.:)

A few years ago we had unusual amount of snowfall and it trapped a number of people at home, we have quite a few elderly homeowners that we keep an eye on. So some neighbors down the road a few mile had their drive cleared by someone. All they knew was somebody with a orange tractor just showed up and cleared all their driveway, then left without stopping or saying anything. I was able to finger the culprit for them, it was my next door neighbor. The place he worked was closed because of the snow so he spent his time cleaning driveways. I'm really blessed with great neighbors.
