Not paying attention... Lost a wheel

/ Not paying attention... Lost a wheel #11
Last year my daughter called from the neighbors and said she she lost the back wheel off of our 2520 she was using, I went over and as they had gotten loose they had wallered out the wholes in the rim and ripped the threads out of the wheel holes; three stores later I found the right size tap but had to wait a a couple of days for the bolts. I feel your pain, it was a pain in the butt.

After that I took her fingernail polish and painted a line across the bolt and onto the wheel so i could see if they moved again.

That's called torque-stripping and I recommend it wholeheartedly!!
Not sure how well fingernail polish will hold up though...I use a paint marker.

Thanks for posting, a good reminder for many of us, I will check them on our tractors as soon as I can.

What is required torque for a rear wheel nut on a 5065e for example? 150 ft-lbs?

Look in your manual for the correct torque.
