Lawyers, not JD (or Jeep) are responsible for most of this stuff.

Re: 2320 and off seat PTO

I'm on board with John Deere on this one. I'm not sure there is ever a really good reason to get off the tractor with it in gear and the steps to put it in neutral and set the brake to keep the PTO running isn't exactly a difficult task. The parking brake holds pretty well on the 2320 and, if I feel I need more I just drop the loader, blade or whatever else I have on. That seems like a lot better solution than depending on the hydro to hold it while the engine is running.

I do agree with you on the built in nav systems. I prefer a Garmin because of this. However, our new Fusion partially solves this - voice activation. There is no lock out when you use voice commands.

Re: 2320 and off seat PTO

I totally see you point on this, but I feel completly confident in making these types of decisions myself. I ran my BX 25 just fine with being able to get off while in gear. Quite frankly, since it is hilly here I doubt I would get off without the brake engaged anyway and killing the engine doesn't really buy me anything safety wise.

I am fine with this as:

1.. I have no children or wife that operate this equipment.
2.. I would only lend the operator not the machine.
3.. I still do not really have plans to get off the seat when operating things like the blower or mower.

If I change my mind at any point in time I can remove the ziptie on the switch........

Re: 2320 and off seat PTO

It's your tractor so you can do what you want but I have to chime in.
It's not about what you "plan to do." What happens when you drive under a low branch and get scraped off. I for one would have loved to have this feature when I got scraped off my 1949 FORD 8n and landed on top of the 5 foot rotary cutter. I got lucky and only a bruise or two and the tractor just ended up stuck in the creek 100 feet away but it could have been a whole lot different outcome. Oh and that stupid plastic driveshaft cover (Also a safety feature)likely saved my butt from more serious injury.

Safety features are not for what we "Plan to do" they are there for when we do something stupid
