How to level limestone/gravel floor indoors

What about raising it up? Put a stone foundation under it and make it more useable?

That's not really the direction I want to go with it. It's plenty usable as is, I just want a cleaner floor surface. I have two larger buildings where I keep equipment. This one just happens to be right by my garden and near my bee yard.

Rent a mini track loader. Most of them will fit through an average door way. This would allow you to dig out existing floor/level it, then bring in and spread new rock.

Hire a couple of day laborers. For ~ $100/day each these guys will dig and wheelbarrow like there is no tomorrow.

Have the gravel dumped in a pile nearby, so you are ready to go when they finish digging.

My bet would be 3 man-days to remove 4" of dirt and replace with 4" of gravel. Have wheelbarrow, shovels and landscape rake ready for them. A big fan to ventilate the inside would be quite helpful...

I'll second this idea. Machinery beats hand labor anytime!

You can easily have gravel delivered to your door, so you don't have to do it by hand.
