6530 Oil Change .......... Absolutely Ridiculous

I venture to say that the same engine was designed for the 2 & 4wd. The 2wd line cover is not needed. One engine for both chasis! But to get oil into the engine or the tranny could have been thought out better. How about a different portal toward the front of the engine - easier to access and a larger tube or opening with a screw down cover due to the PSI. Keep the breather cap where it is and not ever to be used to pour oil into.

With my first oil change on my 7520, same thing, took about 30 minutes. Next oil change, about 10 minutes. Secret, pull the dip stick out to let air move in the crankcase. no more blurping, oil just runs in, slow, but it is now a continuous flow in. ;)

That is the key, remove the dipstick, but I do like the spring loaded baffle idea. Changing oil should be easy.

Thats a good idea. Gonna have to try it next time.

Be a little cautious with the oil going in too fast. There was a thread on here about an issue where the oil going into the valve cover could overflow into the PCV system and somehow end up in the intake manifold, then of coarse end up in a cylinder and "hydro" lock that cylinder and bend the connecting rod. $$$

Go to a marine sales and service and look at some pumps they have for oil changing. They come with small tubes that you could pump or suck it into and out the dip sticks or where you are putting it now.

With the way the fill is designed, you have no choice but to put the oil in slowly. Using the motorcycle type metered funnel, it just makes it a cleaner, slow job!

I have a 5530 and let me tell ya all, changing the oil is a LONG process. It has the same design as the OP's 6530, it sucks! Other than that I love the tractor, just can not fathom why someone thought this was a good design.

I am not defending the design, but as mentioned above, leave the dipstick out when filling. It helps more than you would think.

Honestly, with the dip stick pulled up so that it does not seal, the oil flows in fine IMO. No you can't just pour it in like you do on SOME vehicles, thus it takes about 10 minutes. ;)
