How much tractor needed to move 25" Travel Trailer?

I use my 855 to move all of my trailers around though none weigh 6k. Max (I think) is 4k. Only real problem I experience is weight. My tractor just isn't heavy enough and so when ever I'm pulling I always have the loader on and run in 4wd since the roads are gravel.

I use my 3930 (2wd, abt. 45hp) to move my 5,000# travel trailer using a 3 point hitch receiver. I have no slope to deal with here, just tight maneuvering. Tractor does not break a sweat at all.

The smallest of tractors. Just toss it in the bucket.

I move things like that with a L245 Kubota. Small tractor but it has Ag tires, 4x4 ,and low range. Front loader has come in handy to slow things down when too much trailer get to pushing.

I use my 3320 to move my 35' - 8,000 lb TractorTow.jpgcamper around and get it into and out of my shed. The door is 12 x 12 and the trailer is 8 x 11.5, so it takes the maneuverability of the tractor to get it in. Also doesn't help that the driveway is only 35' from the door, so a sharp 90 degree turn to get it in. The driveway is gravel, so it turns pretty easy. I have my son help with backing it in since I can't see around it :).

Holy crap. Tractor looks tiny.

Trailer looks like it needs it's own zip code.

Nice rig, for when you are "roughing" it !

I have made 2 different kinds of attachment points for my trailers. The first is a 2-5/16" ball permanently attached to a re-enforced bucket. I added an upper and lover 3/8" plate to the bucket. so there's nearly a0327111953.jpg0327111535.jpg0327111954.jpg0329111630.jpg0327111410.jpg 1" thick attachment point. I move my 30' gooseneck horse trailer with this.

I also made a clip on bracket for the loader bucket with a 2" ball for moving the dovetail trailers. I had to make mine rise some so i can see attachment point without hitting my head on the roof of my cab. both work flawlessly. The removable one clips on and off in about 10 seconds.

I use one of my forklifts and I drilled a hole through the forks and put a pin through so I can pull my farm trailers to move them around, probably 3000 lbs maximum. It doesnt take much tractor to move a trailer. Possibly 25-30 HP? I can use my 4700 CUT to move around my NH 195. It can do it but it doesn't like it.

I did same with the pallet forks on my 3720. A hole through the fork and a convert-a ball stud. Often times I don't even use the ball unless the load is heavy or terrain uneven. I can also do same with hole in the cutting edge on my bucket, but it's hard to see the stud when hooking up.
