Gah! Not to pick on you in particular but the phrase is, "Hear, hear".

We now return you to your regularly scheduled debate over Chinese engines in JD equipment.

Ahhh thank you English major.

Thank you all for the info! Did a test drive of the 825i today for about 30 on some old loggen trails and a tree farm. in the snow and mud. put it throw some the gears and 2wd to 4wd really liked. Still have to go look at the RTV 900.

Can you give us an update, rerail the derail and get this thread back on track! :D

Have you considered the Polaris Brutus? Made in the USA.

It seams the Brutus has the same Yanmar diesel as the Ranger diesel except it has a hydro trans. Polaris Brutus - YouTube

My grandfather has an RTV900, and I have an 825i Gator. I'm 40 years younger, and I think that about sums up the differences in choice. He wants something that works hard, and that's it. I want something that works hard AND plays hard.

I'll leave out the fact that his RTV is in the shop for about the 5th time in the past couple of years... but he has really worked that thing, too.

ANYWAY... I LOVE my Gator 825i. IMO, it is hands-down the very best multi-use UTV on the market. It has more power than you'll ever need, it rides very smooth, it comfortably seats three, gets around my 100 acres in no time (thanks to a 50+mph top speed) and climbs over and through anything. And did I mention it can haul and pull a whole lotta weight?

I don't think anyone on this forum could dispute the brute work qualities of the RTV. But if you're looking for something that is truly a "utility" vehicle, get the 825i. And spend the extra money and find one with the Big Horn package. I got mine used on Craigslist for a heckuva deal!

Here's a load of wood I hauled yesterday. Drove it straight up a pretty steep incline with power to spare in spades.
