I like that tooth gusset concept. My concern before was that if the teeth are made from a higher strength alloy, welding the pipe thru them may anneal and weaken them in the highest stressed area. The gussets should take care of that concern.

The lids are all welded up and ready for the top and bottom guard to be welded to them.

Looks like a nice kit and you're doing a good job on it. A kit with pre-cut pieces is a good idea. I built a little different style of grapple a couple of years ago and it was very time consuming cutting everything with a torch. It didn't turn out too bad for my first major project but it looks like laser cutting makes all the difference.

Thanks. The quality of the kit is top notch.

The grapple is looking great, I can sympathize with the amount of welding having just finished fabrication of a 48" wide of my own design. I went through nearly of full tank of gas for the mig and about 6 lbs of wire I think. Then there is the painting and hydraulics yet to come for me. I need to make some mounts for the diverter valve and the quick connects today; then figure out the hose lengths and the endless puzzle of fittings.

Once again, great job on this project and the documentation of the progress should give others an idea of the amount of work involved.

Roger, first, fantastic build and documentation, second, would you come to Louisiana and build one for me ? :D :drink: I'll feed you mud bugs (crawdads) and cold beverages 'till you grow claws ! Lololol ! Seriously, very nice work and I very much look forward to seeing the final product on your machine, perhaps a video of the final product in action ? Thanks for this thread...
