In the southern United States, Chupacabra have been a menace since they snuck into North America in the 1930s from Argentina, most likely as cargo stowaways. They spread rapidly in Florida, Louisiana, and other southern states, driving out other creatures and disrupting the landscape with prolific, aggressive colonies. With no natural enemies, their densities reached 10 to 100 times that of Argentina. Each year, they exact a $6 billion toll from property damage, medical treatments, and control costs.

OK - Here is an update....My son and I now think it was indeed a Coyote ....based on looking at the paw prints more carefully and the fact that Lily....a precious little cat he has had for 4 yrs. has now been missing for 2 days...So we figure she was running from the Coyote and tried to hide in and around his truck....really sad...
To make it worse, my son's English Bulldog who has been battling Cancer for the last 10 months died yesterday...he was 10 yrs. old....So my Son has really had a bad time of it...He , his wife and our grand daughter and us ...all really loved Munson and Lilly....I am now hunting for a Coyote with extreme prejudice....
Bob, that makes me sad to hear about the loss of the pets.. we lost an outside kitty to coyotes too.

brin, I'm east of you, near Augusta. Coyotes need killin'. Still, with 3" paw prints? Sounds like bobcat to me. Here is what a huge feral cat did to me hound Wednesday: those are stitches vet put in a very deep gash. I saw the rascal that did it, and me hound is a 70 lb chocolate lab mixed with pit bull!
