Nice. Take some time and learn all the features of the HST+. I spend the first 20 hours or so not really understanding them. But once I started playing with them and understanding how well they help it was like a light switch. The autothrottle can be adjusted if you find it revs the motor up too quickly or not enough. Somewhere around is a thread on how to adjust it (easy). If the picture of the cable doesn't show up or if you can't find it I'll post it again.

I played with them some today. The HST+ is AMAZING! I don't think the autothrottle needs adjusting at this point but can't seem to find the thread. I would like to know how...

It's real easy. The engine has two cables going to it. One is from the hand throttle near the steering wheel and the other comes from the HST pedal. The auto throttle lever engages the HST cable. Both can be adjusted on the "passengers" side of the engine. The cables are designed so if one pulls the "throttle" the other is not effect. To get to the cables you need to remove the side cover for the engine.

The picture makes it look like the two cables are different colors, they're not. To determine which cable to adjust simply (with the engine off) engage the auto throttle then with your left hand press on the HST pedal. One of the two cables will be tight, that's the cable you need to adjust. On my 4240 it's the lower cable closer to the engine. To slow down the engine RPM you would loosen the nuts up on the cable and adjust it so more threads are on the oil fill side. If you look at that picture you can see the top cable (looks gold) is centered while the lower cable, the one I adjusted, is no longer centered.

Agreed on taking some time to learn the HST+ and how to optimize its performance, I am still learning. When I tried the tractor out on the lot, I was a bit underwhelmed. The owner, who is semi-retired was the only one available to show it to me and he is more comfortable on the bigger geared units as he still farms with them. We have developed a friendship over the years and it was kind of funny as neither of us knew nearly enough about it and it consisted of a lot of jerking, false starts etc.

It is really easy to learn what does what once you get it, but some things won't help some of us and others will, I am so use to driving these things, I just can't bring myself to use stall guard, but it's a great feature. The dual range feature alone would be worth the cost of admission for me as I use it constantly.

I also don't use the stall guard, guess I should take some time to try it but at this point haven't. Like you said though the dual range is excellent and it gets used all the time.

I wish you could turn on the auto dual speed without the stall guard.

You all are making me jealous with my 3240. Been to the dealer 3 times looking at the last 4240 they have without getting into the new tier 4 hoping to trade in the next few weeks. I love my baby grand but 10 more horse would be very usefull. These are the best compacts on the planet.( just my opinion)

Good luck!! Better make it happen if you want it! So far I haven't even had to push mine- it handles my property with ease and grace!!! If you miss it,
might be stuck with tier 4!
