I always said that when someone is talking all the time they really don't have anything worth while to say so rather than wear out my welcome and risk being thrown off the site because of all my posted works I figured I'd sit back and enjoy everyone else's work and comments.
Fat chance of that happening with the quality of your work.

Well, i asked and not surprisingly got two conflicting opinions! :) Thanks for both.
I was aware of power primer, but wasn't sure how that worked (double bake presumably). A local shop indicated an industrial powder was most durable, no mention of primer. Guess i'll just have to experiment.
As for the cylinder band for backhoe caution marker, mine was broken before i even got my machine home (talk about cheesy). In my case, i don't travel roads, so just leave the marker on my shelf, but if i ever need to use it, the u-bolt will be the way I go.

Don't guess. Check with the maker for application instructions.

That's no fun:)
I don't recall any guidance other than specific bake time and temperature for the variety of powders i currently have in my shop. The reason i inquired in this thread was because of 4shorts paint flaking off issue, and his obvious skill level and attention to detail. As with any finish, success is based so much on proper preparation of surface that i suspect use of primer may only offer a modicum of improvement. Clear top coats IME, at least for exterior applications, really extend useful life.
I've always heard good things about Dupont Imron as well- as far as liquid paint is concerned.

Na. Just pure luck and a lot of it ;)

I've been working on a few C47's and got to thinking about our war vets and just wanted to say thanks to those guys and gals if any of you are watching this thread.

Man that's pretty cool. I bet your dad told you many stories about his experances. I grew up in a remote mining town during the 1960's. the main company there had a DC-3 and we would travel on it frequently. To this day I still love the look of those old birds.

There's another DC-3 on display in a town not to far from me and when I do my RC planes I try and copy the planes I know of such as this DC-3.
Not sure about the talent but I have many more interests than just tractors ;)

That is awesome......

Now you just need to get out there and use it. The stock bucket looks pristine.

I dont think mine has looked like that since the day the deaker dropped it off. One scoop into the dirt.....
