I just cut grass for the first time with my new JD 2720 tonight. She cuts great! But I do have one somewhat nagging issue...the ROPS is noisy! It rattles when it is up, and rattles REALLY bad when it's folded! I'm thinking of using a bungie cord on it to hold it tight when it is down, but I'm not sure if that will even help since it will need to be really tight. Also, I didn't have the ear plugs in tonight (I wanted to hear all the sounds and noises of the new machine to get accustomed to it the first time around), so having those in will help the next time around.
Some of the noise is just the vibration of the pins, and I was wondering if some velcro wrapped tightly around them would help. The bars themselves rattle too, though, so something else will need to be done.
Does anyone have any ideas on ways to cut down the rattle of the ROPS, or am I just going to have to learn to live with it?
Thanks for the help!
