Hi All,
Just finished installing a set of specially made Bolt On Grab Hooks from Kenny at Boltonhooks.com. They're basically his bolt on hooks with a spacer tack on the bottom, see attached pictures. This spacer, a piece of 2x3 square steel tubing, serves two purposes. One is it allows the hook to be above the lip so the chain doesn't damage the hook. I also provides lateral support to the hook when mounted against the lip. I think it was a brilliant idea. I already ordered the clevis mounts so I used those on the inside of the bucket but a backing plate would work also. I tested them out by pulling some fence posts out of the ground and they worked flawlessly. This was my first time doing this so go easy on my technique! ... Highly Recommended!

That's a nice setup. When I got mine, I bought extra backer plates and used them as spacers. I guess enough people were doing the same thing Ken decided to make it easier.

I really like this set up. Did the 2x3 square tubing also come from Boltonhooks.com? I was just on their site and didn't see them there.

Looks great! I like what you did by adding the 2x3 spacer. Very clever!

Whistlepig, Yes, Kenny made the whole thing. They should be on his website soon.

Creekbend, I suppose they could work on other makes but depending on the FEL lip design you may not get the benefit from the support it adds.

Yes, the technique was wrong. tilt your bucket so the top and bottom both touch the pole, then hook the straps(that way you don't get whacked in the head when the pole comes backwards. But the hooks look great

I have been looking at them for a while. Mangling the top lip of the loader was something that I was concerned about. The 2x3 spacer solves that. Even if I have to make my own spacers.

Has anyone used the BXpanded QUICK-ON, NO-WELD, NO-BOLT, BUCKET HOOKS? Wondering if they are worth it?
