So the story is finished and the loader works fine. Total cost: $4.39. If it were not for the smart parts guy, I would have been out $700. The float spool on the 750 has a non serviceable spring at the end and thus no part is available. My wire snap ring retaining the spring broke allowing the spool not to center and thus the bucket kept going up by itself. The parts guy poured through his computer images and found a similar wire snap ring holding the spool centering spring on the loader of a JD 318 garden tractor. He ordered it, had it the next day, put it on and eureka, the loader works better than ever. If the parts guy had been the lazy type, he would have just said: "sorry, JD no longer supports this valve" and I'd be out the $700. Do not know about other parts for other JD tractors but if you think no part is available, let the parts guy be your friend.
