Cut a plastic 45 gallon drum down so it would slide under the tractor from the rear. Pulled the plug, let it drain. put that one back in, slid the barrel back, and then drained the planetaries. Put the plug back in, and slid the barrel out. Pull the filter in the trans on the right side and clean it then reinstall, then change the spin on located above the front axle, refilled, bled the hydraulic pump, and was all set.
Took the front tires off to do the front axle, as they were in the way of the breather plugs on the drives. If you pull the plugs before you drain/fill, makes the job quicker and easier.
How much oil does that tractor of yours hold?
31 L in the trans, 7L (7 1/2?) in the front axle, & 6L In the engine.
Can you explain where this is (or take a picture)? I did the 50 hour service with my dad and we either didn't do this or he did it without me looking and I have no idea where it is. I took what I thought was the filter (or filter cover) off to the left (as you are driving) of the drain plug and there is no filter there, but got a nice view of the gears. This had 4 12mm bolts holding it on and probably wasn't supposed to come off. Whoops.Very easy.
