Anytime a woman says that, you should be afraid, VERY AFRAID!

I like to fish, have had a couple boats including that fancy Bass boat. Guess what, they are all gone so I could buy a tractor and do what I love doing. See the difference: fishing=like, working my land=love. That is how I decided, only you can make that decision (and what ever you decide, the wife won't let you forget, either way).

You cracked me up asking a bunch of folks hanging out on a tractor forum to choose between buying a boat or a tractor. That said, as a retired teacher who spent much of his career working juvenile detention settings, there's something about doing stuff from the seat of my tractor that puts me at ease. Good luck with your choice and in retirement. :thumbsup:

The rest was all part of my business life - nothing fiction including the attempted pick pocketing in Paris where a 70 y/o cab driver from Orlando there on vacation helped me turn tables on the street punks. I was trying to convey that for a person who enjoys seeing the world and having the opportunity to meet with and work with people from all parts of the world, I got to do that at company expense. My dad loved to fish but I find it extremely boring - I could be working. Traveling - I could never match getting to work with engineers, owners, operators, and mechanics from across the world. So does spending a hundred grand on a tractor that will allow me to take on more independence in farming make sense or should I save the money just in case and sit in front of the television 24/7? Decision made, dealer called, but no return call yet saying when the tractor will be delivered. We're going to start spreading fertilizer Wednesday so unless the dealer performs a miracle it will be with the NH TS115A.

There is a sense of accomplishment using a tractor. When you put an implement on the tractor and make a "round", you can see exactly what you have done and how well you've done it. It isn't like going in my office and working all day, when I turn out the light at the end of the day, IT LOOKS JUST LIKE when I started!

My favorite tractor task is turning new ground. There is something extremely satisfying about it!

I say buy the tractor, enjoy farming and charter a boat occasionally. At least the charter captain knows where the fish are! This advice from a long time boat owner - boats are my only vice! :liar: LOL

I would say don't waste your money on a Excalade, this thing will only last 7 or maybe 10 years at best and then it will be somebody's recycled soda can, LOL That new tractor will outlast any vehicle. and dig your own pond or lake for that matter...
