So with summer just around the corner i want to do some first time maintenance on my tiller and MMM on the 755. Other than a gear old change is there anything i should do?

What fluids do i use the the tiller and mmm and what is the easiest way to drain and add as there are 3 plugs on each gear box.

Thanks

Belts, u-joint zerks, and gear box oil (including the chain case). That's about it. Your owner's manual should provide the specifications for the exact oil specs. In general, I've used a high quality 75w-90w gear oil.

I bought a suction plunger at NAPA to pull out the old oil. It takes some time...

i checked my tractor owners manual it says nothing about fluid types or how to drain them on the mmm or the tiller.

So using 75w90 in both gear boxes?

On the gearbox that the pto shaft connects to, there should be a nut that should be able to drain it and for the side gear case as well. Grease your Tiller about every 8-10 hours. Not too much grease that it gets all over the place. 1-2 Pumps should be good.

My new tiller has a drain plug on both the chain case (gear drive actually) and the gear box. My older tiller did not (gear box, no - chain case - yes) hopefully, your tiller will have a drain plug (as well, the MMM) if not -- you'll have to suction the old oil out.

I assumed that with an older model (755) tractor that your tiller would be similar to my older model JD 660 - no drain plug. That said, you know what they say about assume...

75w-90w is a fairly standard gear box lube.
