The F250 has a myriad of suspension choices, but it comes down to being the exact same truck as a F350 SRW besides the springs, rear lift blocks and door sticker. So in reality they are the same truck. But the extra $800 or so is worth it for the door sticker though.

The one difference worth noting is that the F250 has vacuum assist brakes and the F350 has hydro assist.

Yes. It keeps you legal. For example the highest GVWR of a F250 is 10,000#. They weigh 7,500# with a diesel. Put 4 adults in and you have about 1,700# left. May not be a issue but it is for me since my teailer puts 1,800# on the ball. That puts me 100# over with nothing in the bed.

My 06 SRW F350 has 11,500# GVWR and weighs about the same as a F250. That leaves 4,000#. Subtract the 800# for people and 1,800# for tongue weight and I still have 1,400#.

Mine was $600 over the price of a F250 equipped the same and compared to the 04 F250 and 05 Dmax I had it squatts about 2" with my trailer when the squatted 6" to 8". I can not tell any difference in the ride between the two.

I've never owned a 3/4 ton. I've been hauling with F350's for my entire career but lately I'm tired of my 6.0 and 6.4 for running around so I started looking at the f250 with 6.7 for doing bids and occasionally pulling my 13k trailer. My question is, will the f250 handle the weight of a Bobcat and trailer that weighs about 12,300 lbs without squatting too much? It's a short bed f250 4x4 crew cab and the trailer is 18'. I also would need to occasionally pull a 12,600 chipper but not very often. I know the truck is rated for that weight but I've not used a short bed or 3/4 ton in business.

I'm on the other side of the fence. I have recently purchased my first 1 ton - an F350 Crew cab 4x4 with a V10. This replaces my F150 which is just too light for my towing needs. I bought an engine computer programmer and am running an economy tune. 10 mpg towing and driving short distances in a small rural area. (8 mpg before the programmer) My trailer weighs 2K and my tractor in under 3K with implements. How does that compare to diesel mpg? So far I have more power than I need and the 4wd gets me in and out of a sand pit that I frequent. It is a 2001. I bought the truck because it was local and I know some history on it.
