Its the magical 4shorts touch...

Willdo.

All I can say, is when Paul stops messing with his tractors and posting the results, thousands of us "followers" will have withdrawal symptoms! Like when you favorite long-term cartoon strip ceases, or something.

 uhh yup !!!!! I must be one of them ....

You fellows are just to kind.

Well wifey and I spent the whole weekend working on the property project. Got most of it done. I had rented a stump grinder but it had all the carbide cutters worn out so I had to bring it back then travel one hour, one way to rent another one. When I got back with that low and behold I had to sharpen the cutters on that one to get it to work. How many people are renting this stuff and using it not knowing the difference when It don't work right.

Anyway all the top soil is down as is the red crushed stone. I still need to move the fuls tank and the waste oil tank but that's not bad to do. I did get the video up. I used a POV camera on this one with no external mic so the quality isn't perfect. I went with this camera this time because I wore the camera. My others are just to big to strap on my head lol.

Here's a few photo's so far. Still waiting on the contractor to put up the new storage shed for the BX and it's implements so for now they'll stay outside. We still have a lot of branches to chip up. I'll soon be posting the new mod. Wifey came out with the decal but I found a slight flaw in it so it's gone back to be redone.

I started this new mod last evening and it took 6.5 hours to complete (ya, I'm slow) It's been done a thousand times and maybe more but this one is a little different.
The next mod which I'll be starting in the next day or so will be a cool mod yet the most worthless mod needed on a BX but I still have to do it.
Anyway here's a few more photo's. Remember when you look at these photo's there was all trees and rocks in these areas a few weeks ago and the BX was responsible for all that you see because the 5740 couldn't get down there.

I truly apologize to those who find this stuff boring. Maybe when I post the mod it will make up for it

Some more photo's

Putting the chipper on a pallet.

Now I can store all my equipment out in the back instead of the front in view. I'll be making more space soon (another project)

This is up front. It was all grass and a little messy looking. Now it's cleaner and more parking :)

Paul how far back do you own where the chipping pile is? If it's far I would put that L5740 bucket down and go, Push that pile back and bury it. The most fun I have with my tractor is clearing land.
You'll wear out your chipper. Nice video, love the Grand L

The land is 110' wide and it goes back around 1300' more. I thought about pushing it all back but we want the branches for the chipper to spread out on the property and if we pushed it we'd never get to do that. This is just phase 1 of the project so there will be lots to do again later on  Glad you liked the video. That one was really rushed. Trying to work and document it is hard to do at times but at least you get the idea of what we are trying to do by viewing it. :)

OK. For the folks out there that's been watching this thread for mods and mods only I'll post this for you and I'll add a few extra photo's for your viewing pleasure

As I said, This has been done before and I just like to add my own touch to it and any improvements that might come to mind in the process. Another goal I have is to make it look as much a "factory" piece as it can be so I hope I've accomplished that. :confused3:

I'm calling this "Tow Guard" As some of you will notice, I have installed a Quick Hitch to the BX so I needed a way to tow, drag, pull something so I designed the Tow Guard. I'm calling it a guard because of the 1/4 shield I have in the front. If I back up to something and I miss the ball I'll hit the guard and not the tractor. Well that's the way its supposed to work lol.

Everything is mostly 1/4 thick meterial except the end pieces where the pins go in. They are 1/2". The square bottom tube is 4" X 1/4. Is it over kill you ask? For sure BUT I had this metal kicking around the shop so that's why I used it. The total hitch weighs in at 51.4 pounds.

Anyway have a look.

Started out with this and found some more scraps around the shop in the process.

Oh my goodness. I never realized it was a syndrome until now!

How do you like the Speeco hitch, Paul?

I see them at Princess and wonder if they are any good? Did you look at any factory QA's?

The local guys I've talked to said they were pleased with the Speeco Quick Hitch. The cost was around $250. Land Pride at the Bota dealer was $495. plus tax. I only installed it yesterday and it's off again today but I used it a few times and it was easy to install, easy to put the chipper on and locked in well. In the shop tonight doing the 50 hour service on the little guy.
