was it the steering cylinder end or the end under the steering wheel that was hard to work with ? if you jack up the front end by the frame you should be able to tilt the axle and gain more room to work on the steer cylinder end fittings. Angle wrenches and 12 pt crows feet sockets are a life saver when working on hydraulics.
