I am very happy with my 1026 until today. I got 43 hours on it and today I ran out of diesel when mowing. So went to town and got more filled it up and when I started going up a slight hill the rpm's went down and I put my foot on the brake and disengaged the blades it was running so rough the entire tractor was shaking. After a few minutes the rpm's went back up and I started to mow again and it happened again. Any idea what might be wrong with this? Also, I changed the blades too, brand new blades never been sharpened and it sounds like they are rattling. I used the torque wrench on them and tightened them to 90 ft pounds. Please help or should I just load it up and take it to the JD dealer and let them figure it out.

Sound like you got air in your fuel line,, if you ran out diesel you will need to get your service book and read up on bleeding you filter.. Lou

why the heck doid u point new blades on a machine with less than 50 hours on it. ill bet 10-15 hours are only from mowing. Do you mow rocks and sticks?

I suspect that he upgraded to the gator blades or something similar.

I live in the woods I mow prolly 3 acres of more and I have lots of oak trees. I also pull behind an Agri Fab lawn vac and during the fall I don't go out and pick up every stick cause they would take the entire day. I pick up the big ones. I would guess I put 25 hours or more from mowing and using the lawn vac. I thought 50 hours on a set of blades were pretty good considering on my John Deere LX277 I would have to sharpen the blades every other mow. If I had just straight grass and no trees I am sure my blades would last much longer.

Talked to John Deere dealer today of course they are 2 weeks behind on work right now. He told me sounded like I got water in the line, I asked him about air in the line and he said the 1026 has a self bleeding line.
