Havent done any shopping yet but wondering if with 4g service available if a security system that accesses the internet sends you a message or alert to your mobile phone might be a good ideal. At my place in TN I do not have phone service and very few year round neighbors. i will be shopping in the near future for a system. Just thinking out loud but a audible alarm coupled with a dvr camera to record events and to send alerts might me the ticket.

This is what I want: A DIY wirless alarm system with dial out notification, LOUD siren and battery back-ups to function if the power is cut. We re very rural and have excellent neighbors, so an audible alarm/dial out will get the job done without paying a monitoring fee.

Google gives me a dizzing array of systems to choose from, so what I need from my fellow TBN'rs is some opinions on systems they have experience with. Also I need two systems, one for the shop and one for the house so I need to pay attention to cost.

So what did you end up with... Over a year later now?
