Down side of belly mower

If you use your tractor for general household chores a MMM isn't such a bad deal. Like others have said you can get much closer to objects and your turning radius is greatly reduced.

The one thing that always kept me away from ever considering a MMM is the fact that you lose so much clearance. Start moving some dirt or running a disc/plow theres a good chance your deck is going to catch possibly causing damage to the linkage or bottoming out the tractor at much shallower depth increasing the chances of getting stuck.

I am running the standard R3 tires. My dealer advised me that the R3 Turf Special tires would not clear the deck.

Thanks dschuffert, another quick question, with Standard R3's and that deck, can you add hub spacers and still clear the deck? My unit is pretty tippy when I run the R4s and so prior to getting one of these decks, I wanna make sure I can keep the stability the TURF specials provide by widening the stance of the R4s.

I currently have the back tires turned flipped to get the wide stance. I still have room to add 4" spacers on each side (back tires only) if I wanted to. I'll take some pics tomorrow evening and post of the clearance I currently have.

Ok, I await your pics. if you have room with the small R4s to add 4" hub spacers on each side that would be good.

Two things as far as I'm concerned.....

1. Can't maneuver around objects as good. Around trees and "soft" corners it's not too bad but sharp turns are impossible.
2. If you ever get rid of the tractor, the mower has to go with it. At least with a finish mower you can use it with multiple tractors.
