I'm going sudt2 on my m7040 in about 20 more hours .

Sent from my iPhone 5 using TractorByNet

I used SUDT2 on both my L4400HST and my BX1500.

What does your manual specify? Even that can be iffy. In one place, my manual says "UDT or Super UDT".

In another place, it specifies "Super UDT".

I'm opting to go with Super UDT just to be on the safe side. As for aftermarket brands, I'm not even going to look at 'em. I don't see the wisdom in saving maybe $10 per gallon (if that) as compared to a $10,000 machine. That's just my opinion, though. Not everyone shares it.

At 350 hour service I specified Super UDT2 hydraulic fluid. The HST transmission is much quieter now, the high-frequency whine disappeared.

Changed out my HST fluid at 50 hours using Super UDT2. At the cost of the machine why take a chance. The engine oil was Mobil one synthetic. All filters were Kubota.

I thought UDT was good, SUDT is better and SUDT2 is best.
Also thought that SUDT would be phased out in favor of SUDT2.
Is any of my thinking correct?

I don't think the owners manual recommends a transmission fluid change at 50 hours soooo I wouldn't use any of them. When I'd change it I'd use SUDT2 which is replacing SUDT and in some places SUDT2 is less expensive than SUDT and other places higher.
I contacted Kubota about the early change of fluid on some Kubotas I owned at the time. Here is a copy of their response.
'John, the person or persons from TBN do not know what they are talking
about. There has not been a Service Bulletin or even a notice sent to the
dealers that this is a mistake in the Operators manual. Kubota Tractor
recommends for you to follow your Operators manuals for servicing of each
unit you have. The BX2660 and the BX25 do not have to have the transmission
fluid change until it reaches the 400 hour mark. For the F2680, it is the
200 hour mark. The transmission oil filters need to be replaced and the
suction strainers cleaned at or before the 50 hour mark for all three
units. Your selling dealer can also assist you if you have any questions in
regard to servicing your tractors. Thank you for purchasing and contacting
Kubota Tractor Corp..

I'm thinking of using AMSOIL Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Oil, can't find dealer in NJ.

Years back Kubota recomended 50hr oil changes, the last few years that has changed. I still change all fluids at 50hrs. it worked for me on every Kubota I've owned. What can it harm,a little cost but alot of peace of mind.
