50 HR Service UDT, SUDR or UDT2?

I have a 2007 L2800 HST and the service manual recommends a fluid change at 50 hours and then filters at 200hr intervals and fluid at 400 hr intervals. Not all models or transmission types have the same service intervals. Using the change interval specified in ones owners manual as advise to the owner of a different model is not in their best interest.

Years back Kubota recomended 50hr oil changes, the last few years that has changed. I still change all fluids at 50hrs. it worked for me on every Kubota I've owned. What can it harm,a little cost but alot of peace of mind.

I think they did this because Deere skipped the 50 hour change?

As others have mentioned, following whatever the manual for your tractor suggests is the best way. As to the specific oil, I read enough posts on this forum to know there are advocates for almost anything you want to use. I think I'll stay out of that debate.

Anyone know if this is correct?

I thought UDT was good, SUDT is better and SUDT2 is best.
Also thought that SUDT would be phased out in favor of SUDT2.
Is any of my thinking correct?

Go for the best, save your money on food or something else.

My manual says not to change the fluid until 400 hrs. If yours says the same and you decide to follow it I would go with SUDT2 since you'll loose some oil and I would rather not try to catch it and reuse it. If your tractor has UDT in it then it'll blend just fine. If your tractor has either of the synthetic versions of UDT in it then you know you didn't lower what you already have.

I read on TBN about changing transmission fluid and filter at 50 hours and believed. After I did it I read the book and found Kubota recommends 400 hours on the Grand L 40 series so I was out a chunk of change. My new M135GX, however, is 50 hours and 20 gallons of SUDT2.

I'm thinking of using AMSOIL Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Oil, can't find dealer in NJ.

I personally wouldn't change the hydro oil at 50 hrs, but would change the filter/s. That said, go with UDT2. It is known to be best in HST transmissions. Gear drive wouldn't matter too much.
