Problems with Trespassers

Nobody said anything about swaggering and confronting, thats your scenario. I say when trouble comes to you,be prepared to deal with it instead of being a victim. Clearly some of you don't have what it takes to handle the situation and would rather wait 30 minutes for the police to show up while offering the assailants a beer and begging for your life. Thats your choice but I won't be victimized by thugs because my lawyer hasn't arrived with the proper paperwork.

I will hope that you agree, that using a weapon (gun included) is the last resort in a potential violent confrontation.

Now come on Grease , be fair about this, neither HS or I ever suggested for the OP to strap on a big gun and swagger out to confront the maggots....Geeez, that would be the worst thing to do...All I have ever suggested and Grease might agree is that he arm himself...concealed is fine...just so he is prepared to defend his family and himself against a potentially lethal assault....

Your post Nos. 178 and 185 clearly suggest it was and is a mistake to let the insults go unanswered. If that was not your intent, then you need to tone it down.

All I'm suggesting is that it is not good advice to suggest to the OP that he is not being manly if he doesn't face down the maggots. Sometimes, (often times in my experience), that is exactly the wrong thing to do.

My hats off to you Glocker. You're the he-man we all want to be. The Dirty Harry of TBN. What is it that makes you so powerful, a Glock 30 maybe?

Sarcasm aside, how many leo's are killed with their own weapons?

Grease and everyone against standing up for yourself and families....Lighten up....What are you advising ? To allow some redneck man or woman, young or old to intimidate, threaten and bump into your wife with an ATV or any other weapon of choice....Attention....defend thyself ....to anyone experiencing this kind of threat...the cops will take the report after you are dead...it is up to you to protect yourself and family...Ask any LEO and he will tell you , they cannot protect everyone , nor can they guarantee they will arrive in time when you call to save your life....It is up to you....

I never heard the words "shoot to kill" uttered in my CCW class. I was taught to shoot to stop the threat to my life.
I'd no sooner offer up advise that would land you in prison than I would offer advice that would flip your tractor.

Glocker...your advice is not good advice in my state. Perhaps it is in your state, but I doubt it.

I am not even going to look back at those posts since I know I would have never suggested the OP was not being manly...I was not there...he did what he thought was best...I only said what my " Personal " feelings are...how I would defend my family ....I still know this ...if someone bumped my wife with anything other than by accident I would take some action...Now how is that...? Whether I was there or not...all she would have to do is tell me it happened and I would take it from there...My God man, what would you do...?

Exactly what action would you have taken under the OP's scenario that is different from what he did? Why, because they "disrespected" you and your wife? And you have to show them you are a tough guy, correct?

I say the OP took the correct action under the circumstances. No need to second guess him.

If I saw someone threatening my wife and child with a 4 wheeler or anything I would lose it. I believe a sheet of red would be before my eyes and a form tackle off the atv would be next. Possibly pick some teeth from my boots.

But that's if I saw it. Later on being told I would be at least a little more rational. These kind of people are the worst. I hope this is resolved soon.

Hats off to you Greasemonkey, you're the liberal nobody I know wants to be, a regular Chris Matthews. 2.5 million times a year law abiding gun owners prevented crimes . You would rather be a sheep .Thats your right but not everybody sees the wisdom of rolling over and submitting. The OP is being threatened and assaulted on his own property ,should he wait until they have hit him with a bat 3 times to act ? Whats the proper amount of physical abuse to take before one acts ? When seconds count the police are 30 minutes away. Sometimes YOU are responsible for your own safety.

Pretty tough guy on the internet. I heard some old lady pushed your wife in line at the grocery store yesterday. Better load up and bust a cap in that granny's butt. Hurry before she get away with disrespectin' ur girl!

So far the OP has used better common sense than to follow the arm yourself advice. What about "don't put yourself in harms way" because really in the end its not worth it.

To the OP, another option may be to talk the lowest elected official you can find, here that would a municipal counsellor. Some times they are very helpful. Sometimes not though. Just another avenue.

Good luck in you misadventure.
