Can someone please tell me the standard width of male quick attach plates and the thickness of the metal. My bucket is 6' wide and I want them to hold up.
Thanks,
Stuck

By male plate, do you mean implement plate?

No, not the plate on the implement. I mean the plates on the end of the two loader arms. They're usually connected by a bar. I borrowed the term male from another post. It made sense to me, because the male end of a connection is usually the one that fits inside the other end.

I just happen to be screwing around outside with a tape measure, lol. Mine measured 43 7/8" to the outside edges and 25" between the inside edges. The hay spear that is on it right now measures 45" inside width.

DT86,
I think you've told me what I need to know. Please check me on this. If the outside of the two plates are 43 7/8" apart and there are 25" between the inside edges that should mean that each male plate that's attached to the pins on the loader is 9 7/16" wide. 9 7/16 + 25 + 9 7/16 = 43 7/8". Am I correct?

I'm trying to make certain that the male plates are wide enough that they won't bend and pull out of the female "receiver bracket on the pallet forks.

Paul,
I found that site yesterday. It gives dimentions for the end of the hitch that's welded to the attachment but, if it has the width of the parts that stay with the loader, I couldn't find it.

Bill,
That might be what I'll do. At this point, I have a pin on bucket and a set of pallet forks with a SS quick attach bracket. I've got to come up with a common hookup somehow or other.

Click the first link and the top drawing is the tractor side dimentions, but it doesn't give metal thickness. I used half inch plate. I just finished building one for my tractor, and I can get you some pictures when it comes home. It's at my neighbors' now getting fitted with hydraulic hoses. Should be done in a day or two.
