Male Skid Steer Plates

Mine (Sold by Titan) measure 44" across and each is 9 1/2" wide. They are made from 1/4" thick metal. Was about $297 shipped. They also sell just the latch plates for less.

Paul,
You do beautiful work and you've shown me exactly what I wanted to see. I really appreciate those measurements.
Was there any particular reason that you tapered the width of the plates?

Zebrafive,
As with Paul, I really appreciate your measurements. I just received a set of pallet forks made by Titan and am caught between building my own quick attach and buying one of theirs. The smaller of the Deer tractors you list is slightly more powerful than my MF. Do you feel that those 1/4 inch plates are thick enough for any quick attach implement you might hang on them?

The plates are boxed so that gives them a lot of strength. They are heavier material than the loader brackets (that engage the bucket) on my JD245 SL loader, so I think they will be fine.

Thank you. I looked at several skid loaders before building, and I just copied what I saw. Most of the weight and/or stress is on the top, and by tapering the bottom keeps the weight down for an old loader like this. What Titan has to offer is the best price I've ever seen, however, if you have the time, you can still build for less. Mine cost less than $100.

Zebrafive and Paul,
You've both been enormously helpful. I guess it's time for me to check steel prices and make my decision. I may get back to you with more questions when I start to work.
Thanks again,

Here is a picture of the Titan. I had to modify it a little to add the mount for my loader.

Zebrafive,
Thank you again. There's no telling what information will be useful. The loader arms on my tractor are fairly wide and I may have to make some modifications myself to get the quick attach to fit. More measuring, on my part, will be needed before I make my decision about diy or ready made. I've actually deliberated more over the forks and quick attach than I did over the tractor.

Paul,
I neglected to thank you for explaining the taper on your plates. I'd guessed it might be to save weight but wasn't sure. Those 1/2 plates are very impressive. Thank you.

I would never have been able to build the QA if it hadn't been for all the info I got from TBN. That's what we're here for.
